VA Northern Indiana Health Care System is searching for a full-time or part-time academic non-invasive cardiologist to fulfill the current staffing needs of our facility. The selectee will manage the full range of cardiovascular diseases in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. Outpatient clinic duties will include personally evaluating new cardiology consults and follow up with patients and mid-level providers who see both new consultations and follow up patients in their clinics. S/he will be assigned to Acute Medicine. S/he will be expected to read ECGs, exercise and pharmacologic stress tests, transthoracic echocardiograms and ambulatory cardiac monitors. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Cardiovascular Disease. The selectee will participate in the cardiovascular care of both inpatients and outpatients, which includes the procedures listed above. Selectee will apply American Cardiology of Cardiology/American Heart Association and VA guidelines to the management of cardiovascular diseases. You will be required to maintain BLS certification and ACLS. You may be asked to serve on committees, participate in quality assurance programs, assist the facility in meeting required cardiovascular performance measures. You will perform chart reviews as part of peer ongoing professional practice evaluations as well as point of care audits. You will also participate in the peer review process. You will be responsible to document patient care data in the electronic medical record, including new consult and follow-up notes within 24 hours.
