The Chief of Medicine provides administrative and programmatic leadership for the Medicine Service. Responsibilities include overall administrative oversight including quality assurance for the Medicine service. The Chief of Medicine reports Directly to the Chief of Staff. Service areas include General Internal Medicine, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Hospitalist Medicine, Rheumatology, Hematology-Oncology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Dermatology, Infectious Disease, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Allergy/Immunology, Neurology, virtual healthcare (electronic consultation and clinical video-telehealth), inpatient consultation, and undergraduate/graduate medical education. The Chief of Medicine is responsible to the Chief of Staff. The incumbent works under the Chief of Staff to develop and promote high quality clinical service, research and education programs. The incumbent must be board certified in Internal Medicine and be qualified for a faculty appointment at Albany Medical College. S/he will participate in academic activities of the Albany Medical College. Work Schedule: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Monday to Friday, but tour may vary Financial Disclosure Report: Not required The incumbent for this position may be eligible to apply for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) contingent on funding availability. Participation in EDRP is contingent on the availability of EDRP funding and is not guaranteed.
